Official Open Day
Tulisa Webb from Onthank Primary School officially opens NWKLEUS
Thank you to everyone who supported our Open Day and a massive thanks to Tulisa for officially declaring the community centre as NWKLEUS!
Tulisa Webb designed our logo, after coming first in a competition with more than 500 entries.
On Saturday, 15th June, Kilmarnock North West Community Partnership held its official Open Day to celebrate the many new and exciting changes that we've been making since taking over Onthank Community Centre.
To start the celebrations off, we invited Tulisa Webb, age 7 from Onthank Primary School, to come and cut the ribbon. Tulisa won our logo competition back in September 2018 after we asked the pupils of Onthank Primary, Mount Carmel Primary and Hillhead Primary School to design our new logo. Today, Tulisa did us proud and Onthank Community Centre is now officially known as NWKLEUS.
More than 200 people attended our successful event - many of whom had not been to the centre in several years, or had never been at all. It was a great opportunity to meet with local residents and explain the changes taking place, the groups and activities that are held at the centre and for them to try out some of the activities themselves. We also had a small petting zoo, Tai Chi, archery by North West Archery Club, BabyChat, Citizens Advice, children's face-painting and 1st Onthank Rainbows.
We also can't forget our impressive Community Cafe who kept everyone refreshed with delicious homemade cakes, hot food and good coffee!
Thanks to everyone that came along in support and a massive welcome to all of our lovely new members!
